stuffed cabbage

YIELD: about 2 dozen rolls

1 head green cabbage (about 3 lbs)
1 large can tomato juice (48 oz) (more if you like a lot of gravy)
1 1/4 - 1 1/2 lbs chopped meat
1/2 cup rice
1 egg
juice of 1 - 1 1/2 lemons
1/8 cup brown sugar
1/8 cup honey
salt, pepper, onion & garlic powder to taste

Mix rice and egg and spices into the meat. Put a little juice and some pieces of cabbage in the bottom of a large pot. Cut hard part of the core off cabbage. Place about a teaspoonful of meat mixture on cabbage leaf. Roll up gently, folding sides toward center as you go. Place in pot. Add lemon juice, sugar and honey to pot. Pour in remaining juice.

Cook over low heat about 2 or more hours until soft.
