AUNT ESTHER'S BROWNIES

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup unsifted flour
1/4 cup oil
6 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa
1/4 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 - 1 cup chocolate chips (optional)


Grease and flour* an 8x8x2 inch baking pan. In medium bowl, stir together sugar, flour, cocoa and salt. Stir in corn oil and vanilla.
Add eggs one at time, beating well after each addition. Add nuts and or chocolate chips. Turn into prepared pan. Bake at 350 for about 30-35 minutes. Cut into 2 inch squares while still warm.
*When making a chocolate batter, I always use cocoa instead of flour for the pan.
This recipe can easily be doubled and made in a 9x13 inch pan.
